SKOKIE, Ill. – August 25, 2016 – Kaufman Hall served as the exclusive strategic and financial advisor to Wentworth-Douglass in evaluating its strategic options and moving forward with a sole membership transaction with Massachusetts General Hospital.
Kaufman Hall advised the board and senior management of Wentworth-Douglass by providing strategic advice and analysis on the organization’s strategic options. Kaufman Hall’s role and activities commenced with an assessment and evaluation of Wentworth-Douglass’ current market, strategic and financial position, and recommendations on future repositioning strategies and potential strategic partnership options, including the option to pursue modified strategic plan as an independent entity. After the decision to explore a strategic partnership, Kaufman Hall provided advice and support to a board decision making processes that resulted in the selection of Massachusetts General as the preferred choice. Finally, advisers from the firm supported Wentworth-Douglass in the development and negotiation of the letter of intent with Massachusetts General, including governance, service enhancement and financial terms.
