As Kaufman Hall Senior Vice President, Tom serves key health systems across the U.S. managing large and complex improvement efforts for top Kaufman Hall clients. In this role, Tom leads diverse teams in identifying, framing and executing client cost, quality and growth opportunities. He is a trusted advisor, thought leader and point of contact for chief executive officers and their C-suite teams.
Throughout his Kaufman Hall career, Tom has led teams in operations, clinical consulting, continuous improvement and Lean transformation. Before joining Kaufman Hall, Tom served as President of Transformation Group, Inc., where he helped healthcare organizations make lasting improvements by developing improvement systems. He's led healthcare organizations in both the development of high-level improvement strategies down to hands-on implementation in various clinical settings. Tom has developed an excellent working knowledge of healthcare operations with a diverse client base of all sizes and prominence—from academic medical centers to stand-alone multi-specialty clinics.
Tom earned a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of Michigan and has achieved the levels of Certified Lean Specialist from the Business Improvement Group and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), along with being an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer. His training background includes strategy deployment, Lean, quality and leadership training. He's also given presentations at several national healthcare conferences.
