Annie Melikian is a Senior Vice President of Kaufman Hall with more than 30 years of management experience in major healthcare organizations, including more than a decade as a senior finance executive. As a member of the firm’s Strategic and Financial Planning practice, she provides advisory services for a wide range of clients, including health systems, academic medical centers, and community hospitals, to help them meet their financial and operational goals. Her many areas of expertise include operational performance improvement, cost management, business strategy, organizational restructuring, productivity enhancement, capital and debt management, work systems redesign, and affiliations, mergers, and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Ms. Melikian was the Chief Financial Officer of the Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS), a six-hospital system based in Los Altos Hills, Calif. In that role, she was responsible for all of DCHS’ operational and financial activities, with an emphasis on optimizing strategic financial direction and operational excellence. She developed and monitored financial policies and procedures, led strategic financial planning, implemented labor productivity ... standards and related reporting mechanisms, managed the centralized business office, and oversaw the system’s treasury and cash management functions. Ms. Melikian was a key member of the team that coordinated the December 2015 sale of DCHS to Blue Mountain Capital Management.
Prior to her CFO role, Ms. Melikian held positions as Vice President of Operational Finance and Director of Financial Improvement at DCHS. Her previous experience includes serving as Director of Financial Operations at Catholic Healthcare West (now Dignity Health), and as a Senior Manager with Arthur Andersen, LLP.
Ms. Melikian holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
