He is recognized as a leading authority on healthcare macro trends, with his areas of expertise spanning strategy, finance, financial and capital planning, and mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.

Ken offers deep insights on the economic, technological, and competitive forces undermining healthcare’s traditional business model. He has delivered almost 600 speeches and is the author of seven books, including Fast and Furious: Observations on Healthcare’s Transformation.

Ken received his M.B.A., with a concentration in Hospital Administration, from the University of Chicago.

Ken received the 2019 Richard L. Clarke Board of Directors Award from the Healthcare Financial Management Association for lifetime contribution to healthcare, the only consultant to receive this recognition. In 2024, he received the American Hospital Association’s Award of Honor, which is given to individuals or organizations in recognition of exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of our nation through leadership on major health policy or social initiatives.
