Pooja Gupta is a Managing Director in Kaufman Hall’s Revenue and Operations Improvement (ROI) practice. She focuses on identifying opportunities to improve facility outpatient documentation, coding, and charging. She has also worked with healthcare providers to successfully expand their CDI programs into the facility outpatient setting. Pooja has over 20 years of healthcare consulting experience. She specializes in revenue cycle consulting with a focus within facility outpatient clinical documentation improvement, revenue integrity, charge capture, compliance, and revenue enhancement.
Pooja has worked with over 70 healthcare providers including large academic medical centers, large health systems, and independent community-based hospitals. She focuses on identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems for accurate charge capture, coding, documentation, and process and system integration. She has also worked with healthcare providers to successfully build and implement Outpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement programs.
Pooja has managed several engagements, including the implementation of Charge Capture project for a large academic hospital in the Midwest, the implementation of an Outpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement program for an eight-hospital system, and the implementation and management of a Charge Capture program for a multi-hospital system in the Chicago area.
Pooja has extensive experience in developing and building charge capture predictive relationships and software programming to identify charge capture errors at the point of service and develop root cause corrective actions to mitigate future errors.
Ms. Gupta holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
