For many years, racial inequity has been an unacceptable reality in the U.S. healthcare system. Representatives of S&P Global Ratings, Moody’s Investors Service, and Fitch Ratings assess the financial state of healthcare in the wake of COVID’s financial upheaval, and how the agencies view the current performance and future outlook for hospitals in the context of these new economic realities.

Dr. Mukherjee offered key scientific and social insights from the first six months of the COVID-19 pandemic and explored the possible future trajectory of the pandemic and the status of potential vaccines. Mukherjee noted that combatting the pandemic successfully requires an ongoing, multi-faceted approach bringing together public health organizations, providers, governments, and other key partners. Mukherjee also noted the rise of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic, and called on providers to improve their virtual care capabilities.
